Kanatal at 8,500 feet in
Garhwal Himalayas:
Kanatal, a quaint little hamlet in Uttarakhand (Uttaranchal)
state, located just 300
kilometers or 6-7 hours by road from Delhi, is perched at an
altitude of over 8,500 feet. Kanatal offers a spectacular view of the
snow-clad Garhwal Himalayas and lush green forests.

Auli at 10,000
feet in Garhwal Himalayas:
Situated
in 8 acres of slopes, amidst glorious mountains, is the Cliff
Top Club Resort in Auli. The resort is a luxurious four star
property. From the resort one can have a clear view of the snow
covered Nandadevi range and many other ranges which are covered
by snow all round the year. In winters, it is a paradise for

Narkanda at 9,250 feet
in Himachal Pradesh:
Nestled in the foreshadow of the
majestic
Himalayas,
ust
two
hours drive from Shimla on the Hindustan Tibet road i.e. N.H. 22, Narkanda is
an easily accessible destination while still offbeat and untouched. With
its calm and serene surroundings, the area is lush green with
deep valleys and conifer forests.
The Hatu
Peak at 11152 feet can
be easily accessed through a gently ascending proper metalled road. The drive up is interesting and
takes you through pine, oak, deodar, silver fur and rhododendron
trees with a wild profusion of flowers and herbs. Midway
one passes a small water-body and gujjar hut at Jhamunda. It is a
nice viewpoint and a camping site.
Hatu hillock provides beautiful and majestic views of the Himalayas and
the surrounding pahari hamlets. It also has a temple
with intricate celestial carvings.
From Hatu, for those interested, one can take a short one hour round
trek upto the alpine meadow of Jaubagh.
The perfect place for a picnic lunch. One can also visit
the famed
apple orchards at
Kotgarh
and spend time at the nearby Tani Jubbar Lake.
