Binsar, located in the serene and heavenly Kumaon hills, lies 25 kilometres north-east of the town of Almora. Binsar is situated in the midst of a forest reserve known as the ‘Binsar Reserve’ which has been declared as a wildlife sanctuary. Binsar is perched on top of the Jhandi Dhar hills and completely surrounded by dense forests. Oak, rhododendron, pine and deodar grow in amazing abundance.
